A private documentary a few public topic, My Father’s Vietnam personifies the connections made and unmade by the Vietnam Conflict. That includes never-before-seen images and 8mm footage of the period, My Father’s Vietnam is the story of three troopers, solely certainly one of whom returned dwelling alive. Interviews with the filmmaker’s Vietnam Veteran father, and the family and friends members of two males he served with who have been killed there, give voice to people who proceed to silently carry the psychological burdens of a warfare that ended over 40 years in the past. My Father’s Vietnam carries with it the potential to encourage audiences to broach the themes of service and sacrifice with the veterans of their lives.
